¶ HORSEPOWER volunteers hope they will not have to use their first aid skills but are ready to do so if required.
Volunteers Jennifer Gregg and Jacob Carter and centre manager Jo Williams recently undertook training over the course of a day, including providing first aid and basic emergency life support.
Ms Gregg said being able to act when required is key.
“You never know what’s going to happen, and a lot of what we do here requires us to be prepared,” she said.
“A lot of it is common sense once you know it.”
Mr Carter said it is important to act efficiently and effectively in the case of an emergency.
“We have kits on hand in case something does happen,” he said.
Mrs Williams thanked South32 for providing a grant to make the training possible.
