¶ COMMUNITY Broadcasting Association of Australia chief executive officer Jon Bisset called in to the Collie Community Radio (CCR) station last Saturday during a visit to WA.
While it was not his first visit to the state, it was his first trip to Collie, and he was impressed with the station and studios.
Mr Bisset met the station’s committee and Bulletin editor Martin Kovacs, discussing CCR’s acquisition of the newspaper.
He said there are three other stations in Australia that also include newspapers.
“The other stations cover a much larger area, and some already had journalists on board before starting newspapers,” he said.
“It is a natural mix as both radio and print media are in the same game.”
Mr Bisset also visited Margaret River for the launch of Radio Margaret River.
