Premiership double

COLLIE Eagles dominated the finals to take home two premierships in the South West Football Netball League on the weekend.
The Eagles league team went in as red hot favourites with a star studded line-up taking on an in form HBL outfit.
Collie went into the game without defender Elle Lincoln and star shooter Myra Ugle and had only seven players with the Reserves and Under 18 players on the bench for support if needed.
HBL came out firing in the first term and held a 11-3 lead early leaving the Eagles stunned and unable to get out of first gear.
The HBL midcourt were finding their shooters with ease and the shooters didn't disappoint to take a 16 to 10 lead at the first break.
Collie came out in the second quarter with a different outlook, Jessica and Brooke Repacholi started to show their influence in the game, dominating the centre court, and Grace Millichamp and Milla Harker combined well to completely turn the game on its head, resulting in a 27-26 half time lead.
A disciplined and controlled Collie came out in the third term, with repeated efforts by the defences Serena Nandapi, Padme Parr and Abbey Jones keeping HBL in check.  Millichamp was dominating in the goal circle and passing between Harker and the Repacholi sisters  was taken to another level to increase the lead to six at three quarter time.
Collie's fitness and ball movement destroyed any hope of a HBL comeback, with the coach Angela Repacholi able to sit back and enjoy the last quarter brilliance.
Collie showed a masterclass of high end netball enjoyed immensely by a capacity crowd, completely silencing the strong Lions supporter base,  Collie taki the win 60 to 45 at the final whistle to much jubilation.
Reserves players Tobie Narkle-Wngatson and Areti Greerlings came on during the game to allow players to have a break and didn't disappoint playing with poise and precision in a high level game.
Jessica Repacholi was named MVP for her strong game in centre leading the way throughout the game with her high level passing and creativity.
Under 18’s
The Under 18's after sitting on top of the ladder all year undefeated, went into the game hoping to continue their stellar year against a talented Donnybook Blackwood team.  The game was tight in the first term, with Katy O'Brien working overtime to turn the ball over in defence and Ella Soulas dominating the centre, but unfortunately were not able to turn these into goals resulting in a slim 8-7 lead at quarter time.  Changes on court moved Georgia Melvin to the goal attack role, this created a lot more movement in the forward line and the goals started to fall with Collie taking a two goal lead at the long break.
Changes once again at the break saw a new combination Maddison Cream into the shooter role with Melvin.  The defensive line up of O'Brien, Greta Hall and Bella Penden were getting plenty of the ball, denying the Ravens an avenue to goal, and with Soulas continuing to control the centrecourt with Lani Cahill on the wing, were able to provide plenty of scoring opportunities to increase the lead 31 to 26 at three quarter time.
In the last quarter, there were more player moves by the Eagles but with the Ravens coming out with renewed vigour, it took an almighty effort by O'Brien in the goal keeper role to get her hand to plenty of the ball to keep the Eagles in the game.  Missed opportunities by the Eagles saw the score line slimmed to just one with minutes remaining, but they held fast to take a well deserved 37-34 win.
Ella Soulas was named MVP for her consistent strong game in the centre role.
Masters
The Masters team reached the grand final in only their second year of the competition eventually going down by three goals.  Collie had a nervous start with Eaton taking advantage of early missed opportunities to take a two goal lead early in the term.  The Eagles slowly settled with Colleen DeAngelis and Rebecca Stewart finding the post, ably supported by good feeding into the circle by Angela Repacholi, Teagan Roney and Shay Roberts.
At the defensive end Dani Hall and Kaliesha Gardiner continued their good form to make it difficult for the Eaton shooters to score.
Late in the quarter the first rotations brought Lisa Soulas on at wing attack, Carly Forrest into goal attack and Steph Robinson into wing defence.
Collie continued the good work to ensure a 9 to 6 lead at the first change.
The Eagles returned to the court with the same combination and competed strongly to take control of the game to stretch their lead to five, leading 19-14 at the main break.
Collie started the third quarter strongly, but tactical moves by the opposition coach allowed Eaton to find their rhythm and they slowly started to decrease the margin to four going into the last term.
Eaton playing a very disciplined style of play resulted in a complete turnaround in the quarter to outscore Collie by seven goals to take a 38 to 35 win.
