¶ ANGLICARE Bridges support worker Kylie Brotton had her locks lopped off for a good cause last week.
Miss Brotton has long wanted to do her bit, and made it one of her new year’s resolutions to participate in the World's Greatest Shave, raising money to help fund blood cancer support and research.
“It was pure excitement, when the first braid came off, I thought, ‘this is really happening,’” Miss Brotton said.
“It’s for a good cause, so I was more than happy to do it.”
Miss Brotton was in good hands, with mum, Kaz Brotton, a former hairdresser, taking up the scissors and shaver.
Her hair will be donated to Sustainable Salons.
Other staff and participants also joined in, taking part in face painting and colouring their hair, while Coles donated supplies for a barbeque.
