A COLLIE woman has urged other female runners to exercise caution after being assaulted by a motorcyclist last Saturday.
Police confirmed they are investigating the indecent assault that occurred near Lions Park in Crampton Street at 2pm.
The woman, who is in her 30s, asked not to be named.
She said she is extremely vigilant and carries pepper spray when she runs, but did not anticipate any issues in a public space in broad daylight.
“I heard and saw the motorbike on Crampton Road,” she told the Bulletin.
“He’d seen me running along the river through Lions Park on my way to Minningup Pool and cut across the park to get behind me.
“As he rode past, he hit me with force and grabbed me. It was enough to take my breath away and push me forward. He then just continued to go.
“He’d gone out of his way to do it. He was by himself and he knew what he was going to do.”
The motorcyclist was wearing a full-face helmet, goggles and a camouflage jacket, and was last seen on Mungalup Road.
The woman could not remember details about his bike.
She ran back through town and reported the matter to police, who took a statement.
Police have urged anyone with CCTV or dash-cam footage of a motorcycle on Patterson Street, Crampton Street or Mungalup Road between 2pm and 2.15pm, or any other information related to the incident, to come forward.

They have not confirmed if they are investigating any leads or suspects.
