Graphite first for Collie: $4 mil. grant to support producer’s mine-to-market strategy
1 min read

¶ INTERNATIONAL Graphite (IG) will use a new $4 million State Government grant to firm up its mine-to-market strategy and bring Australian-first equipment to Collie.
The Investment Attraction Fund funding will be used for the installation of state-of-the-art, demonstration-scale graphite spheroidising equipment at IG’s Collie graphite processing and research and development facility.
It will also go towards the bulk extraction of ore from IG’s Springdale deposit near Hopetoun, paving the way for process development and customer offtake analysis.
“This grant acknowledges the critical importance of building a reliable, sovereign supply of battery graphite materials as quickly as possible and the opportunities this opens for WA to attract trade and investment from international markets,” managing director and chief executive officer Andrew Worland said.
“This grant will fund essential activities that will help propel our mine-to-markets strategy through feasibility to commercialisation.”
It brings the total state and federal government support for IG to $17.2 million.
