¶ ENTRIES are invited for the Collie Show’s free schedule cover drawing competition ahead of the show later this year.
This year’s theme is “sheep and wool”, with children under 12 encouraged to enter for the chance to have their artwork featured on the cover and win a $50 Collie Chamber of Commerce and Industry voucher.
The competition has been running for more than 10 years and has become a fixture of the show.
“Usually at one of our early meetings we all get together and everybody puts forward an idea for a theme and we then vote on it,” Collie Agricultural Society member Les Whymark said.
Staff from sponsor Unity Bank will do the judging and make the hard call as to who is the winner.
“We will announce the winner at our July market,” member Jo-Anne Retzlaff said.
This year the show will be held on October 18.
Anyone interested in volunteering is encouraged to reach out to the society.
