Walking hockey returns
1 min read

¶ THE Hockey for All initiative returned to the Collie Hockey Club last week.
A good crowd turned out for the first session of the all-abilities program, providing an outlet for sport and socialising, which will run until Thursday, April 10.
Coalfields Hockey Council president Gary Faries said he’d received feedback that Collie is the “shining light for WA in relation to all-abilities hockey”.
“You’ve got to have the passion for it,” Mr Faries said.
“We’ve found having that passion is infectious.”
Participants do about two to four kilometres of walking a session, Mr Faries added.
“We’re very mindful of people’s abilities, and also their age, their flexibility,” he said.
“It’s about hand-eye coordination and balance and fun.”
Anyone is welcome to come down to the club at 9.30am on a Thursday to join in, Mr Faries said.
