Garden to investigate solar setup
1 min read

¶ A SOLAR and battery system and additional water tanks are on the agenda for Our Community Garden.
New chairperson Chris Brown said the garden will proactively seek funding to support its plans.
“We have a lot of plans for the future, including getting some form of power here,” Mr Brown said.
Solar combined with a battery system, along with up to two additional 50,000 litre water tanks, will allow the garden to become more sustainable while cutting costs, Mr Brown added.
A new water tank was recently installed at the garden following a $3900 donation from Premier Coal under its Community Support Program.
Other plans include updating the children’s play area and potentially extending the garden’s current fenceline to incorporate an external undercover area.
Improved disabled access is also on the agenda.
Residents are welcome to visit the garden on Fridays, 9.30am through 11.30am.
